Custom or ready-to-assemble cabinets: which is right for you?

Custom cabinetry

The most control: any door style, any color, built to the exact dimensions of your space.

Ready-to-assemble (RTA)

Costs less and moves faster, since it isn't built from scratch for your space. It comes in different grades, and we'll walk you through what each one actually gets you.

Our team assembles and installs every RTA cabinet we sell. Most sellers hand you the box and leave the rest to you.

FAQ: Cabinetry + Countertops

How long does a cabinet and countertop project usually take?

Timeline depends on the scope of your project and material lead times. Cabinets can take around 4-8 weeks for manufacturing, and then the installation is within a few days. A general kitchen remodel is around 10 days after receiving everything from the manufacturers.

Can I see and touch the materials before I decide?

Yes. Our Southern California showroom has real cabinet doors, countertop slabs, and finishes on display, so you're choosing based on what you've actually seen and felt, not a photo.

Does Cabinets OC handle installation, or only the design?

Both. The same team that designs your kitchen also builds and installs it, so there's no handoff to a separate installation crew partway through your project.

What if my project involves more than cabinets and countertops?

Our team also handles full remodels, room additions, and new construction. If your project grows beyond cabinetry, you're already working with the people who can take it on.

Do you offer custom cabinets, RTA cabinets, or both?

Both. If you want cabinets designed and manufactured in-house for your exact space, we do that. If you'd rather go with ready-to-assemble cabinets for a faster timeline, we offer that too.

Is there a warranty on the cabinets?

Yes, we stand behind what we build. Cabinets have a limited lifetime warranty and a 1 year labor warranty on fit and finish.
